Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor has received hospital treatment following an incident in Glasgow city centre on Saturday night.

The Ibrox number one is thought to have received minor injuries after the incident outside a nightclub.

Rangers have confirmed that an incident took place but would not elaborate on the extent of McGregor's injuries.

However, BBC Scotland understands that the 28-year-old's injuries will not keep him out of Sunday's Old Firm game.

Strathclyde Police said on Sunday evening they had received no report of any incident involving the player.

I'm glad to read he is not seriously hurt. But I also hope this is not just a bit of paper hype ahead of the OF game at the weekend.

I don't think it's safe for any O.F. players out in Glasgow. Too many O.F. fans will be out, always.

If i played for one of the old firm i'd stay out of harms way before and after a OF game.

Common sence really, bad enough for the fans never mind the players.
