Falkirk manager Steven Pressley believes there should be repercussions for referees if they make blunders in matches.

The Bairns were on the wrong end of a controversial penalty award last weekend after St Johnstone were given a spot-kick for handball against Brian McLean.

Liam Craig levelled from the spot and Falkirk slipped four points adrift at the foot of the SPL table after going on to crucially lose 2-1.

Pressley is aware his comments could land him in trouble with the Scottish Football Association but he is adamant he will continue to stand up for his club.

"I keep saying that when decisions go against us, they seem to be brushed under the carpet. I'll certainly not be accepting that.

"If a decision is made, it has to be the correct decision. We cannot suffer from a bad decision and have no repercussions.

"It's too easy to make a decision and it be wrong and it be swept under the carpet. It's us as a club that suffers and that has to change."

When asked whether there had been any repercussions following his comments, Pressley replied: "None at all. I'm ducking for cover!"
