OK it might not have matched or even beat the most goals in a SPL game which was 12

Quote
12 - Motherwell 6 Hibernian 6 (05/05/10)
Craig Brown's men recovered from 6-2 down with 25 minutes left and even missed a penalty in one of the most incredible matches ever seen in Scotland. Lukas Jutkiewicz smashed in a stunning equaliser, with Giles Coke (2), John Sutton and Tom Hateley also on target for Well. Colin Nish hit a first-half hat-trick for Hibs, who also netted through Derek Riordan and Anthony Stokes (2).

But by winning 9-0 it's better than the previous highest winning margins of

Quote
The biggest winning margin in an SPL match is seven goals, something that has happened on six occasions. Celtic are the only team to have scored eight goals in one game to date.

Dunfermline 1-8 Celtic
February 19, 2006
Dunfermline had shocked Gordon Strachan’s side a few months earlier but suffered in the return as Celtic became the first team to score eight goals in an SPL game. Polish striker Maciej Zurawski helped himself to four, with Stilian Petrov, John Hartson, Shaun Maloney and Neil Lennon also on target. Andy Tod had the Pars briefly level in the first half at East End Park.

St Johnstone 0-7 Rangers - November 8, 1998
Dick Advocaat’s men took the title in the first season of the SPL and were ruthless at McDiarmid Park. Saints played the last hour with 10 men after Paul Kane was ordered off but Rangers were already well in control. Rod Wallace and Jonatan Johansson started the rout while Jorg Albertz weighed in with a brace of penalties and World Cup winner Stephane Guivarc’h bagged a late double. Andrei Kanchelskis was the other scorer.

Celtic 7-0 Aberdeen - October 16, 1999
Aberdeen endured a torrid time against Celtic in 1999/00, also losing 5-0, 5-1 and 6-0 in the league. With John Barnes in charge, the Hoops were in seventh heaven thanks to hat-tricks from Mark Viduka and Henrik Larsson after Eyal Berkovic had opened the floodgates.

Celtic 7-0 Aberdeen - November 3, 2002
Celtic again proved unstoppable although Aberdeen held out for 26 minutes until John Hartson beat David Preece. The Welshman went on to score four times on a day when Henrik Larsson, Bobo Balde and Shaun Maloney also profited.

Hibernian 7-0 Livingston - February 8, 2006
Hibernian did most of the damage in the second half as they dismantled Livi in a midweek match in the capital. Chris Killen opened the scoring at Easter Road and Derek Riordan netted from the spot before Gary O’Connor scored soon after half-time. Riordan and a Dave Mackay own goal made it five before substitute Steven Fletcher struck twice late in the game.

Celtic 7-0 St Mirren - February 28, 2009
Celtic had only scored one goal in their previous three games but ended their drought in some style. Chris Smith spilled Shunsuke Nakamura's long-range effort for the opener in 16 minutes and Saints' day got worse when Jack Ross was sent off for conceding a penalty, which was missed by Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink. Nakamura added a second on 35 minutes and completed his hat-trick just before the hour. A Scott Brown double, a stunner from Marc Crosas and an own goal from John Potter took the tally to seven.

So Celtic have the record clearly now  clapping

What a load of old bolloc*s. What about the old division 1 then, don't those records count anymore.

You hoops boys only count since the SPL then. Is that the only way you can get your records?

Go on climb back in your boxes and come back out when you do have the record counting both leagues.

I suppose if you are talking SPL, then yes it is a record. But remember Rangers have the Aberdonian sheepshaggers on Saturday, so watchout for 10  thumbs up
