Chesterfield have extended the loan of Scott Griffiths from Peterborough by another two months.

The defender was initially brought in on a one-month deal but will now remain with the Spireites until 6 November.

The 24-year-old spent six years at Dagenham & Redbridge before moving to London Road last season.

Griffiths told the club website: "I am delighted to be staying a couple more months as I am enjoying my football and am pleased we have started so well."

Manager John Sheridan added: " We are pleased to keep him, he has done really well.

"I think the Chesterfield fans have been quite impressed by what they have seen of him."

The Spireites are fourth in League Two and remain unbeaten after four games.

Wish he could have come on an extended loan for the season, this guy has been awesome, and no shock to see our form go backwards since his depareture. He's got the spireite bug thought, he wants to come back. Says we have a great stadium, great management and has also said he loves the fans.

After his last home game for town, he got a standing ovation from the crowd. You could tell he were touched. Hope he's back in jan
