Looks like they like big crowds in Michigan!

There is a chance that the biggest cricket gate may have been at the MCG, but Eden Gardens used to hold 120,000 so it's most likely that the record for cricket (unknown) was in India.

Any corrections or additions are welcome!

That Hockey one is out of date now. The recent World Championship opener between the USA and Germany at the Shalke04 Stadium got (i think) close to 100,000 attendees. You'd have to research that to get the accurate figure though.

The Germans seemed to ride the crowd's energy from start to finish en route to a 2-1 overtime win against the Americans in front of the record crowd of 77,803 at Veletins Arena at the opening game of the World Championships in Gelsenkirchen, Germany

The game was planned with the idea of breaking the world record hockey crowd of 74,544 that watched a college game between Michigan and Michigan State on the Spartans' football field. Eric Nystrom and David Moss, who both play for the Calgary Flames, also played for Michigan in that 2001 game and for Team USA in the record-breaking game Friday
