Anybody a fan of cricket in this forum?

If so, what do you think about England and the form against SA in the one day game?

I sure do, I love cricket. England has been playing some nice cricket against SA. A few nice wins and Flintoff to back in form which is good to see.

Sure is great to see, hopefully our test form can turn around abit aswell, especially with the ashes just around the corner.

I'm hoping to go to one of the days with my cricket club, but doubt we'll be able to get any tickets.

whats the chance of a series white wash?

The Irish beat Bangladesh (my team) aswell as Pakistan and West Indies in that  World Cup 2007. I think this Ashes series will be even not a whitewash. Australia has got rid of Gilly,Langer ,Warne ,McGrath ,Martyn from the last ashes. Australia have some youngsters and I am looking forward to it. Pre book tickets is the best way if you can. Good luck! We get the ashes live here in Australia.Kevin Pieterson as captain, Look forward as how he attacks the series and will Monty Pansear play?

Yeah, will have to look into the pre booked tickets thing at some point soon.

Not sure Monty will play, hes not good at batting, and hes very poor at fielding. Also hes not gettting the best of times with the umpaires, as he tents to appeal for alot, and go over the top with these appeals, so when somebody is pumb, not out is given, but we shall see.

In Australia, Monty bowled well, fielded well and batted well we he did. He is a very exciting player to watch. He was a crowd favourite in Australia. Hope he plays, He is so much better than Ashley Giles . He can over appeal a bit, I agree.

In other cricket news

117 all out Bangladesh in 36.1 overs
2/118 in 22.4 overs

Bangles have gone further down when Jamie Siddons has become coach. When Dav Whatmore was there it looked exciting and we had better totals.

Yeah, hes been abit poor this summer to be honest, if he works on his game, he'll be a great asset to England. I've got a feeling he will be in the side for the ashes, don't think anybody is coming on enough to beat him into the sight to be fair

As well you know Shrek, I'm a cricket fan.

As for the one day series they are doing excellent. My only dissappointment is that Foster is not the wicket keeper. He is in my opinion the best glove man at the moment. I understand why they have picked prior for his batting and the fact he can open but I would still have foster first.

Can't say I know much about Foster, hardly seen him play or anything, but i like the way Prior is playing, hes doing really well with the gloves and well with the bat, so no harm in keeping this that aren't broken

I agree with don't change if it ain't broke.

I am alittle bit biased as I used to live in Essex and when I got into cricket I started watching them. So they are my teamI suppose so. Foster is their wicket keeper and he is good. He can bat as well but Essex have players who can bat better so he tends to be down the order.

Talking about cricket, got my name in lights from Saturdays game

Bassetlaw & District League

Quote
At Hockerton Road: RANSOME & MARLES 3rd (20) 118 all out, beat CUTTHOERPE 3rd (4) 96 all out (T Thompson 30 Runs) by 22 runs.

Not bad to say I came in at number 10, at which point we were 28-8. I got out when we were on 90, I should have won the game for us aswell, but gave my wicket away  Cry

Bad luck Shrek but you tried. 2005 Ashes were the best ever. England format is way better than the aussie one. ODIs first then Tests. What have you guys thought about Kevin Pietersen captaincy? Who would you play for the first game of the series?

Certainly did, but just one of those things. It would seem i'm a good pressure batsman, well thats the conclusion i'm going to, i've come into the batting while their is lots of pressure and come out the better side of it.

Not got a problem with KP, the only thing i was worried about, is that we can't afford for his form with the bat decline, think that could put us in some problems.

Not sure about the team. We will have more an idea during the winter tests in India.
