Following our football teams.

I guess that it's hard to put into words.

I've seen such highs and lows with Celtic and Cambridge United, and England too.

Re: Celtic: I've seen us beat Rangers and lose to Rangers (home - I've never been to Ibrox). I spent a fuckin mint on going to Seville (for a whole week) for the UEFA final and I even went to the Ross County 3rd round cup match, on my own, in shitty January weather.

Re: Cambridge United: I've seen us beat Peterborough (home and away) and lose to Peterborough (away). I've probably been to 700+ United games and went 5 seasons without missing a game, home and away. I've seen us win at Wembley but I've also seen us play like fuckin trumpets.

Re: England: Well, we had the classic 5-1 win in Munich and we've also had a total shambles on many an occassion. The World Cup was a right mess and the less said about penalty shoot-outs, the better. I went to Poland and Norway (both away) in 1993 when we failed to get to USA '94.

I recently went to CUFC v Newport County which was a load of shite and I decided that "I'm not coming back here again in a hurry!" yet I'll be back there again this afternoon.

Am I mad ?   thinking

Anyhoo, EnglandCeltic ScarfCambridge scarf forever !

Btw, I know that it's also been hard for Jimmie re: West Ham (going down?); Dave re: Darlington (gone down) and Dono has been waiting a long time for Vale to be doing well and it must hurt to see Stoke in the Prem.

Why do we do it ?

I reckon that it's because it is The Beautiful Game, even when it's ugly.  wink

It's simple Paul, it's purely tribal mate, we make our affiliations and we stick to them.

I must admit to having second thoughts about going to The Abbey today.

'Will we play shite again?' etc ....

But it was good today, my faith has been restored and Celtic will win the SPL.  praying  wink

Mind you, England v Montenegro was bobbins !!  panic

Btw, Jimmie, yes you're right. It is tribal and we'll not settle for 2nd. It's first or nowt. Ecstacy or heartbreak. IMO.

Was once stumped about a year ago when an Arsenal fan and a Chelsea fan came out with "whats it like going to games home and away knowing you're going to lose" Speechless! but thankfully its all been good last couple of seasons.

Trying to figure out if i should go West Brom away, literally have nothing on or no excuses. Just a case of being arsed or not thinking

Fair dues to anyone who does away games.

I used to do away matches but don't anymore. Celtic and United home matches only for me these days, and I don't do any England games anymore.

Indeed it is.

Southeast England to Glasgow isn't too easy. Match ticket, trains, flights, hotel, taxis, beer and food money, etc ...  panic
