Not too sure myself.

Surely the team manager is the 'director of football' .... ?

It will be interesting to see how it goes with Comolli @ Anfield as the 'director of football strategy'.  thinking

The first thing Harry Redknapp done when he took over as Tottenham Hotspur manager was sack Comolli. Then we appoint him as director of football bad move by John Henry and the board if you ask me
