Cesc Fabregas claims Spanish fans would jeer if their national team adopted the philosophies of England.

Spain have always been synonymous with free-flowing football, with their game based more on technical ideals than physical prowess.

Sticking by that approach has paid significant dividends over recent years, with the European Championship and World Cup crowns locked safely in the trophy cabinet.

Their success stands in stark contrast to that of England, who continue to place too much emphasis on hard work and endless energy.

Arsenal midfielder Fabregas believes that style can only get you so far and admits that Spain would become the victims of terrace abuse were they to follow the Three Lions' lead.

He told the Daily Telegraph: "The way we play is the most important. It's about how you do it. You will never play the ball longer or do some things you are not used to.

"We want to win playing football. If it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen but we want to be the best this way. We did it last summer and we want to keep doing it."
