England

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/9126262.stm

Quote
BBC

David Beckham has not given up hope of playing again for England and insisted he will see out the final year of his Los Angeles Galaxy contract.

England boss Fabio Capello had stated he would not pick Beckham again for a competitive game but has since said no-one has been ruled out of contention.

And ex-Manchester United star Beckham, 35, said: "Of course I would always love to be available for my country."

He also revealed he will not leave the Galaxy before his deal ends in 2011.

Beckham has won 115 caps for England, more than any other outfield player, since making his debut in 1996 and has played in three World Cups.

The former England captain made his last international appearance as a substitute in the 3-0 win over Belarus in October 2009 and injury prevented him being available to play in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

In August, Capello seemed to call time on Beckham's international career, although later in the summer the Italian appeared to backtrack and added: "The future is for the young players as we have to think about the Euros but no one player is out."

No, I disagree.

He's earned his caps and has been bloody brilliant at times for us.

I'm glad that he's still got his eye on the ball.  clapping

Look, no one can deny that Beckham was a great player in his day. He has been a brilliant role model for the kids & a model professional for up & coming young players to admire however Beckham & the England faithful both need to face the fact that his international career is over, finished, done & dusted! It is getting slightly embarrassing when these people dont accept natures course & the fact that they are too old. Why doesn't cappello recall the SAS while he is at it? c'mon do everybody a favour Beckham & hang em' up once & for all, please.
