This is a toughy. I mean they are making cut backs left right and centre here as yuo say, and yet we are sending £m's overseas in aid. Maybe we should think of the old addage "Charity starts at Home"

 

The general idea of giving to the needy is fair enough, but IMO (with over six billion people in the world) there will always be people begging due to one disaster or another. The world is getting a bit fecked-up and we'd be in a right mess if we gave to all of the 'needy'.


Also, I don't trust our government or others to send the £ where it's really needed - too much corruption, red-tape and incompetance.

Best to keep our £ here until we've sorted our own shit out.

....and the UK+Ireland have been one of the most generous countries in the past. Time for other countries to do their bit.
