 Cambridge scarf

It's always been United. My family are mostly from the East End of Cambridge - working-class, United territory - and I was born less than a mile from The Abbey. One of my mums uncles used to play for United too, way back when.

The Histon connections came later. Two of my uncles families ended-up living near there. One was+is chairman, another used to play for them. Some ex-schoolmates of mine used to play from them too, plus a few ex-United guys (one of whom became a builder and helped to build the porch on my first house).

It's United that are in our blood. I wish Histon well (unlike many/most United fans, these days), but it will always be CUFC+Celtic for me.

Right then, what has drawn you to Celtic?.

Would be nice to have a quid for every time that I've been asked this question !!

Firstly, Celtic chose me.  wink

Lol.

Celtic

Back in the 90's, we had the Old Firm games live on the BBC in England. I loved to watch them, and somehow knew straight away that I wanted Celtic to win. Had a nasty feeling about Rangers, and it was the opposite for Celtic even though the huns were in their 9-in-a-row. It's hard to explain, but Celtic clicked with me and my love for the Hoops kept on growing although I was a CUFC fan. I've loved footy since I was a nipper.

Some folk may not understand supporting two clubs, but there's no conflict of interest for me. United are lower league / non league in England and Celtic are most certainly not !

After the millennium, when I got back from travelling, my 'football focus' became Celtic. I'd already 'done my time' at The Abbey, and wanted to see the Celts. I went to Seville on my own for a whole week for the UEFA Cup final and then joined rangersfansvcelticfans.com when I got back.

Games at Paradise, or away in Spain cost a mint, so my Celtic games have been very limited. But I love them !

If I was a millionaire, I'd buy a box at Paradise and see every game. No offence to United, but to see Celtic is great and often it's bloody annoying watching CUFC.

Btw, my love for Celtic has nowt to do with religion, as I'm not a Christian so the Catholic v Prod thing is all bobbins to me.

.... and my fave colour is green.   thumbs up

I don't work at the mo.

I had a house in Cambridge that I sold for a big profit, and I'm living off the savings while they last.

I used to be an industrial thermal insulation engineer (on-site and office admin as well), electro-mechanical assembler (ink-jet printers), agri-chemical crop science technician and a science lab technician (drug treatments). As you can see, I have a generally science-based background.

My hobbies and interests are (in no particular order):

Sport (footy 1st, cricket 2nd, plus 9-ball pool & 10-pin bowling), music, art+crafts, TV+films, tattoos+piercings (got 5 of each at the mo), science+nature (especially space stuff & the usual physics, biology and chemistry), friends, paganism, history (especially that of England / our islands), military stuff, reading, travel/geography, fit lasses with no strings attached who aren't mental, good food+drink, having no hassle from arseholes and chilling-out.

I used to go clubbing and to parties, festies, etc.... but I'm past that shenanigans now. I also used to be vegetarian (for a long time), but not any more. I let myself eat what I like these days. I used to play footy alot on the park but I get hassle from my legs and back - not played for a wee while now.

Probably Egypt, if it was safe to go there and not too hot !!

I'd love to see the ancient stuff alongside the Nile. I've been to many countries, but not Egypt.

Cambridge is only 'posh' in some of the University areas and parts of the West side of town. The North & East are very working class, where my family & I are from. Most Cambridge folk are 'normal' !

It is expensive though. But most places in the SouthEast are these days.

Best place in football: Celtic Park. Celtic

Best other: Thailand, Australia or South Africa.  thumbs up

Hmmmmm ....  thinking

United back in the league. P*sh are too big to be non-league, so we'd have to get promoted to ever have a crack at the bastards again. We should be back in the league again anyway, IMO.

Best player:

Up front: Dion Dublin and Steve Claridge were very decent in front of goal. Also John Vaughan (Now the GK coach at Huddersfield Town) in goal was legendary at times. Alan Kimble at left-back was great too. There have been some great midfielders too, but I'd probably have to go for Dion.

His debut was away to Peterborough - he got a hat-trick and we won 5-1 dancing banana  clapping and he got the winner at Wembley too.
