Scunthorpe have signed West Ham striker Freddie Sears on a one-month loan deal.

The 20-year-old, who had spells on loan at Crystal Palace and Coventry last season, has joined in time for the trip to Preston on Tuesday evening.

Iron boss Ian Baraclough said: "He's a lad who first came to our attention a few years ago when he burst on to the scene with West Ham.

"We were presented with the chance to bring him in and we're delighted to have him on board."
