QPR have approached Crystal Palace's administrators to ask to open talks with manager Neil Warnock over a move to Loftus Road, reports BBC London.

Mick Harford is currently in charge of Rangers - but is their fourth manager of a turbulent season.

And Warnock told BBC Radio Sheffield ahead of Palace's game at Doncaster that the two clubs were in talks.

"Somebody told me this morning that they are in conversation shall we say," he said.

But the Eagles boss has insisted he will not leave Selhurst Park to move to west London unless compensation is agreed.

He said: "There is no way I am going to walk out on the club. If they can agree compensation then that's a different ball game.

"At the moment I'm Crystal Palace manager and that's how I'll be."

Palace went into administration last month to cap a difficult period for the club during which they were subject to a transfer embargo and players and staff had their wages delayed.

Warnock added: "It is a mess, it's been very difficult for the last 12 months.

"First losing the 10 points [for going into administration] and then having to sell our best player [Victor Moses to Wigan], it's been one blow after another."

I think he's a good manager if I'm honest, just can't abide the man since the whole Blades/Hammers fiasco. So I think QPR will do well to get him.
