Bad news for the Forest.

Quote
BBC

Nottingham Forest manager Billy Davies says that striker Dexter Blackstock is likely to be out for at least a year with a cruciate knee ligament injury.

The 24-year-old was hurt moments after scoring in Saturday's 2-0 away victory against Cardiff City.

And Davies told BBC Radio Nottingham that there is "no chance" of Blackstock playing again this season.

"It's not good news. It will be a minimum of 12 months and could be longer," Davies said.

"We are still waiting on one or two reports but it's bad as we thought with regard to the cruciate ligaments and medial ligaments and the muscles behind the knee. There are a lot of issues going on there.

"We will have to wait and see what the specialists have to say and see what type of operations are required.

"He was a big player for us, so it's a huge loss. I am very disappointed for the lad, the whole club wishes him well."

And, despite being reluctant to use the loan market earlier this season, Davies may have to change that policy in the light of Blackstock's injury.

"We have to look to replace Dexter," added Davies. "We have made several enquiries and we're looking at different options with regard to the loan option and the next transfer window in January."

It's IMO very bad for the Tricky Trees.

DB has been ace for them at times, and a year-long absence will not help their cause.

Derby will probably be happy, though.
