Rangers forward Nacho Novo could be struggling to make the Co-operative Insurance Cup final against Celtic on 15 March.

The Spaniard is still on crutches after damaging his ankle against Dundee United at the end of January.

"Nacho's been in plaster and I believe it will be another week before he begins some light jogging," manager Walter Smith told the Rangers website.

"Hopefully he can be back two or three weeks after that."

Novo, along with fellow forward Kenny Miller, is the Ibrox club's second-top scorer with seven goals this term - including a double in the Co-operative Insurance Cup semi-final victory over Falkirk.

If Novo is unable to make the Hampden Park fixture it would his third domestic cup final absence in succession, after being suspended for both the League Cup and Scottish Cup finals last season.

Meanwhile, full-back Kirk Broadfoot will miss Wednesday night's Scottish Cup fifth-round tie at Forfar after injuring his foot during Sunday's Old Firm match.

However, Rangers are confident that the Scotland international will miss no more than two weeks, and could return for the match away to Hamilton Accies on 28 February.

Steven Whittaker is a possible deputy in the right-back position, as is Maurice Edu, who has played there for the United States national team.

Can't say I'm sorry to hear that  thumbs up

 :Jimmie O':  Cheers

It's great to be back among friends.
