Crawley Town have confirmed they have turned down an approach from Notts County for their manager Steve Evans.

The Blue Square Bet Premier side received formal bids for Evans to become Paul Ince's assistant at Meadow Lane on Thursday afternoon.

County were told that neither a bid nor any amount of compensation would be considered for Evans.

The board of directors at Crawley insist the matter is now closed and will make no further comment.
