Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has signed a new long-term contract at the Premier League club.

Wilshere, 18, has been at the Gunners since he was nine years old, making his debut in September 2008, aged only 16.

He spent much of last season on loan at Bolton but has established himself in Arsenal's first team this term and also made his England debut in August.

"To be offered a new contract means everything to me," Wilshere told Arsenal's website on Monday.

He's not a left sided player. He is the Gerrard / Lampard type of player, but a little bit better than that pair.
