Manchester City's Micah Richards was taken to hospital after he was knocked out in a collision with team-mate Tal Ben Haim in the 3-0 win over West Ham.

The England international defender lay on the ground for eight minutes after the incident early in the second half.

He was put in a neck brace and was given oxygen before he was carried from the pitch at Eastlands.

Richards came round in the dressing room but was taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary for further checks.

Boss Mark Hughes said: "He's a little bit groggy.

"When the stretcher bearers go out you do worry but it was not as bad as it looked.

"It's a head injury, not a neck injury and by all accounts he is a little bit concussed but should be OK."

I hope he makes a speedy recovery.
