Oddily enough, he doesn't look as outstanding in the Premier League. I think that as opposition managers are more aware of his threat, they tend to double up on him, or stop his supply. One thing that they do not allow is for him to get one on one versus the full back. They know that he has the pace to beat most fullbacks.

i don't think its that, its the formation. in the prem we tend to play 4-5-1 and in champions league we tend to play 4-4-2. when spurs play 4-4-2, bale was much more width and depth. so theres more space for him in that midfield to make runs at the defence of the opposition.

That cross that he put over for the header (Crouch?) was a fuckin peach. Proper old-school wing play .... attack, first-time cross and goal. clapping
