Wolves manager Mick McCarthy thinks the Premier League will fine Ian Holloway after the Blackpool boss fielded a side with 10 changes at Aston Villa.

Wolves received a suspended £25,000 fine when McCarthy did the same against Manchester United in December 2009.

"They won't escape it, how can they? If they do then the Premier League is absolutely toothless," McCarthy said.

Holloway has apologised for suggesting McCarthy played a weakened team because he did not feel he could win.

The Seasiders boss made the comments, relating to Wolves' trip to Old Trafford, after his own much-changed side suffered a 3-2 defeat at Villa Park on Wednesday.

The Prem League or whoever should IMO keep their feckin noses out of it.

They are not the club manager, they have no right to have a go at managers for the team selection.  no

Who knows what a clubs best 11 players are. Everyone has different opinions.
With the 25 players named in the squad system that was introduced this season, then everyone listed in the squad must be deemed a first team player. As long as a team fields players from the listed squad, then the FA cannot argue that a team has been weakened.

Citeh could make 11 changes and still put out a side strong enough to give any team a competitive game.
That Blackpool only lost 3-2, conceding the winner in the 89th minute must be enough to convinvce the FA that their side was not weakened.

Of course they can Paul. It is the integrity of the results and the winner. They need to know that the winner has done it right and teams haven't helped them to the title. You also have to cover off potential thrown games for bet rigging etc. They may not like it but there has to be something in place.
