Ladbrokes have apparently suspended betting on David Moyes becoming the new Aston Villa manager just a couple of weeks after the Everton boss said he wasn't interested in the position vacated by Martin O'Neill on the eve of the new season.

From what we can gather, though, nothing has changed since Moyes's firm denial and that this could just be a response to unfounded internet rumours.

Reassuring words for the Moyes faithful from Greg O'Keefe in the Echo, after a ridiculous bookie-inspired frenzy of speculation that the Everton manager would relocate to Aston Villa. Moyes has insisted he has unfinished business at Everton and will continue trying to make this season a success. He understands the financial constraints he has to work under at Goodison Park, but would be unlikely to succeed a manager who left his job at Villa due to his own problems with availability of funds.
